Everybody was discussing about Pakistan state and overrated Bob Woolmer Slangs. Posters are discussing that Woolmer will be gone. Nobody came up with the name of next Pakistani coach. I know Pakistani coach is going through crises. However, this is what that makes Pakistani team. They were never without notorious scandals, untimely rumors, and splitted controversies. So here start next RUMOR of the weekend…WHO IS GOING TO BE NEXT PAKISTANI COACH?
Do we need one head coach and subsequent bowling, batting, fielding, wicketkeeping assistant coaches?
if woolmer leaves, we need a new foriegn coach thats for sure.
as far as bowling, batting, ect ect. ya having a specialist in all those areas would definately be worth the money, if not a specific one for all of those field, then one allrounder who has enough international experience (again i think coaches from abroad would be a better idea).
Yes personally I think Mi an dad, a man with a sharp cricketing mind would be a good coach if only he could improve his man-management skills but after the way the PCB treated him in the past he’s unlikely to accept any such offer.
Miandad, Woolmer are history, Pakistan need a new guy, the best guess would be Aaquib Javed, if they want to promote someone from PCB. and he would make a sensible coach; he has experience with U-19 and "A" teams. and he should be signed up for atleast 3 years.
Not a bad choice but the question is at the age of 34 whether he would be able to command respect from the players (bare bare khaleefa hain iss team main). Seniority plays a big part in our culture as we have seen in Inzi's case. The players respect him because of the age-difference not necessarily because he has great captaincy skills.
The way he acted all his life, I am damn sure he will accept it with both hands, but it is less likely PCB will offer him. If you recall when he was sacked at that time too money dispute was a big issue. He was a great player, and may be a good person, but he seems too greedy when it comes to money. All his career he was fighting with PCB about distribution of MoM money distribution etc.
For Pakistani cricket it would have been best if Pakistan was selecting Javed Miandad/Mudassar Nazir as Head Coach and Aaqib as Assistant Coach. This would have allowed Pakistan to take care of batting techniques as well as to help Bowlers. Javed Miandad could bring a cricketing brain then Muddasar may have an edge in People management plus may be able to handle overseas media and conditions better than Miandad because of his UK experience.
This also bring into mind Mushtaq Muhammad, he may be interested too, but they have such an extended family that PAK team may get swamped by their kins.
So Miandad/Mudassar and Aaqib combo should be the way to go.
Yes, I think he can, gain the respect from the regular players in the team and the so called "barey barey Khalipha in the team" or who ever is left after WC '07.
