I wasnt sure where topost this.
If i have a new invention how do I go about it. Ive found loads of sites saying they will patent your idea but how do i know that they wont steal it and is there any outlay.

^^ call the patent office, but make sure that you remove made in china label prior to showing your invention.

www.uspto.gov is the site for the patent office in the US.
For England - www.patent.gov.uk.

Not sure of other countries but just do a web search for “_______ patent office”, the blank being the country and you should get it.
Most have paperwork on-line and list places you can go to file.

Try WIPO World Intellectual Property Organization at www.wipo.int there is a good stuff to read about this issue.

Hire yourself a patent attorney. The patent process takes 18-24 months. Atty will do the prior art search, file the application, keep on top of the trends to see if others are filing within the timeline to secure the validity of your offering.
