Bitiray, I know many Japanese, Malaysian, African and Middle East students who lived in Pakistan and enjoyed it. Even I met couple of them in Malaysia and they were still remembering their stay and how they enjoyed it, specially the local people who are very friendly.

I am sure you will not only find it like home but also get a lot of help and assistance once you are there. The local people do not care about how you look like, but its how you get along with them. Specially people from Lahore are very friendly.

I would say contact some old students of these institutes and get more about it. Personally I can not say anything which I do not know. Unlike the people who are giving you the reply they might have not even seen lahore in their life.

Ok. Will be a hard for you. The cost of living varies and may end up being more expensive. Get more information about the daily stuff, then decide it . And do toughen up. It will not be what you have the impression it will be. And try not speak English in public if you don’t look like pakistani. Observe more and get to learn the local lang first. TC and may it be safe. Do keep this thread updated if possible.

keep us updated, i wanna know how pakistan is for you.. beware most people ( i meet) pretty rude and are only nice to “white” foreigners.. dont let the store owners rip you off for being a foreigner.. they can tell im an american when i visit pakistan..

Sara_zzz, Could you tell me where in the world it did not happens. I was riped in UK and I am afraid of being killed for a doller in US.

I would say that once he is there, initially he can go out with some class mates to know the local envirnoment.

I have been to the embassy of pak in beijing many times ,the officials there are friendly to me,but i cannt catch some of their enlish very well, thats what i am worrid about. my father have been in pakistan times ,he get a good impression of pak, so im optimized of the circumstances.
thank you in advance for the information of the institutes, i think i really need this.

"zai jian"means goodbye,
and "shie shie"means thank you.

Biyiray, Its the problem of Accent. You might face that problem also. It depends on how much exposure one have with people other then ones own countrymen. I remember that the first time I went to Singapore and it was really dificult to for me to know what the locals were saying , as their accent was different but after couple of days I got used to their local accent of English.

Nope, but am talking in general. Pakistani’s are not friendly when it comes to Chinese people. I can say further on why I am saying that but then why bother. :halo:

This is Mandarin, the national language (Mandarin is same as Putonghua right?) Do you know the rest of the dialects, like Cantonese?

TC means Take Care - short form TC.

Putonghua is the Chinese pronunciation of Mandarin,taqlee,you know a lot about Chinese.:)
i know little about Cantonese,but i know the dialects of Shanghai,i can speak it well:p .
