With elections around the corner, why Zardari would want to replace a true Jiyala with politician from a different party? With Jiyalas already in a bad mood due to Wattoo’s appointment, Khosa’s replacement may also not go well with party workers.

What would be the motivation behind this? Alliance with pmlf? This could improve PPPs chances in souther Punjab.

^^Alliance with PMLF is not possible i guess, Pir Pagara has asked Makhdoom AHmed to resign from PMLF.

pir pagara has influence in southern Punjab!? I thought the hurs were a Sindh thing.

^ I think they have some sort of influence in south Punjab. Like shah Mehmood Qureshi also has some influence in sindh. Southern Punjab and sindh has had a lot of impact on each other. So much so seraiki is spoken in a large area of sindh as well.

As if Zardari cares about Jyalas, why would he appoint Wattoo over dozens others? I have heard that he is appointing Gilani as head of Punjab though.
I think Zardari didn't like his party's performance in by elections so trying new tricks i guess. He has given up on other parts of Punjab so his WHOLE focus is on South Punjab now.

And PML-F is saying that he has accepted the job in his personal capacity. While the Makhdoom has been foreced to resign from the Functional League, the Pagara has sent a clear signal to Zardari. Does the Makhdoom still hold any electoral alliance between the Functional League and PPP?

Interesting, according to Imran khan makhdoom Ahmed Mahmood has been made governor because of his rivalry to Jahangir tareen.
