I dont seem to find much on it, our papers are full of the usual politics. only thing i heard here was that ahsan iqbal may take over as HEC chair, he seems like a qualified guy but I did not see any thing on what they want to do and how.
so please if u will, just list the topic and what u know. e.g. healthcare..strategy, policy, spending, targets..etc

I don't think that will happen or likely to happen, because hes not part of the Cabinet, nor is his party. It will take atleast 5 years for him to get such a post. Right now hes the education minister for Punjab.
If Dr. Atta wasnt on that position for so long, it would have good to retain him, as that is one person who has been consistent. There was a lot of mismanagement in Atta's projects, but that was because of the people working under him and still peanuts compared to other department.

I mean fine fine, get rid ofmusharraf and bring back the first PCO judges, thats all okay.
How does that then open more univerwities, how does that control out of control madrasas (the percentage that is out of hand) etc.
I mean if u have no goals then its easy to claim success .. or from the POV of the other side failure.

To be honest, every problem facing Pakistan has solutions. Not easy solutions, may be, but solutions are definitely there if we put our minds to it. This particular government, unfortunately, has no wisdom, desire or ability to tackle these problems. Its like a rudderless ship where no one really knows who is the captain.
First step is political stability and a unified chain of command, where everyone knows who is the decision-maker. And second is for the decision-maker to have good judgement and to assmble a good team around himself. Then everything else will fall in place.
so Faisal, what u are basicalzly saying is that this current set up had but two objectives, get rid of musharraf and reinstate judiciary? oh yeah and then have a diff approach with better results to deal with FATA, and deal with mehngai.
Getting rid of Mushy was political maneuvering. These guys are champions of that. Political joRh-toRh.
To address serious problems facing Pakistan, they need serious leadership who is patriotic, able and have vision and good judgement. I don't see anyone here capable of that (except may be Shahbaz Sharif to some extent - he has his own baggage, of course).
Our best hope is that these guys maintain some kind of status quo and do not completely run the country over the brink. Hopefully in the next 5-10 years, we will actually have a leader who can steer this ship out of this mess.
bilawal will come of age, and the other bhutto side, murtaza and shahnawaz's daughters will complete one end of the equation, qazi and diesel and co's bhanjay bhateejay will cover the other part unless they too are living in US now. Altaf will still be around and by that time be pakistani version of austoin power's fat bastad. nawaz will be in a cave with osama.
oh yeah, and some dude we have not heard of right now, a few rungs below kiyani, he would be our military ruler.
Economic strategy: use Cayman islands not the pesty swiss banks
Healthcare: use more targetted and smaller bombs to alleviate pains of opponents once and for all; no more sunroofs with handle
Education - Bilawal will take care of that in UK in a real university (that has an attached bar and club); nomore degrees from non-existent universities for would be presdents
Policies: what, the govt has to do everything? Outsourced. Condi and co are working on the policy manuals.
On the most important issue, Jihadi terrorism, the policy seem to be give "muzakrat" a go to shut people up and then fight with force. Hats off to PPP to continue fighting, maybe even a bit more efficiently than Musharaf.
