If anyone is paying attention in the US Defense Dept, recent posts in Gupistan have surely revealed the most diabolical and effective interrogation tactic that could possibly be used at Gitmo.
STEP 1: Have an Islamic cleric tell each detainee that Allah wants him to confess all to the US soldiers.
STEP 2: Take Detainee #306 out for what appears to be several hours of interrogation.
STEP 3: Put Detainee back in his cell and let him brag to his fellow terrorists that he told the US soldiers nothing.
STEP 4: At night, quietly remove Detainee #306 from his cage and replace him with a monkey.
STEP 5: For three consecutive nights, repeat Steps 1-4 with three different detainees.
By the fifth day, the remaining Detainees will be ready to spill their guts to the US soldiers. Until we learn to think like these folks, we will never break them.

Thanks for the endorsement OhioGuy, but I already have a day job.
My point is that the US might be better able to extract information from Muslim fundamentalists by better understanding their culture and belief structure. We'd never think of the monkey transformation thing because none of us WASPS or white Christian slave masters would ever consider it likely that someone else might believe a man would be transformed into a monkey. But, obviously, this is precisely the kind of thing that they would believe and it would give them the heebee jeebees.
If we wanted to extract information from a Christian fundamentalist terrorist, we’d certainly quickly come up with the idea of threatening to shred the potato that he believed assumed the visage of the virgin Mary. The potato thing wouldn’t work on a Muslim fundamentalist because he’d probably ask to eat the hash browns.
Maybe we’re not getting all the information we want because the interrogator (us) and the detainee (them) have two thoroughly different belief structures. We’re using tactics that we think would extract information from people who also share our belief structure.
We need to think outside of the box and understand the mentality and beliefs of “them.” We should not dismiss an idea simply because it wouldn’t work on “us.”

They would not be in a prison given qurans, special expensive culturally sensative meals, are left to prey for 5 times a day and shown where mecca is.
In fact these are probably the best treated prisoners in the history of warfare…

You never hear the storys of the blood urine and cum that are thrown at the guards each day or the things that are said to them. Infact these prisoners would slit any westerners throat if they got the chance.. remember that.
