New Gaza air strike 'kills one'

**The Israeli air force has carried out an air strike on the Gaza Strip, the second in as many days.**The missile strike killed one man and destroyed a rocket launch pad, according to the Israeli Defence Force.

But Palestinian sources told Reuters four men were injured, but no one was killed in the attack.

The strike came as reports suggested Israel and the Islamist group Hamas could be nearing the completion of a prisoner swap deal.

On Thursday two Palestinians were injured in an air-strike on smuggling tunnels near the border with Egypt.

Earlier this month several other tunnels and an alleged weapons factory were hit by Israeli missile strikes.

Hamas have been in negotiations with the Israelis to complete a prisoner swap that would see IDF soldier Gilad Shalit released in return for hundreds of Palestinians held by Israel.

But Hamas officials said the indirect negotiations have hit a snag and are on hold until the end of the four-day Muslim Eid al-Adha holiday.
