new foundation,suggestions?

Re: new foundation,suggestions?

Thinking of going back to my previous foundation, kanebo sensai. Very nice foundation, but wanted to try something new. So far no luck

Re: new foundation,suggestions?

I love the finish meenana, just apply your moisturizer and wait for 5 minutes before you apply the foundation. Try a few shades of BB along your jawline and see how it looks in daylight, ask for samples if they have any.

Re: new foundation,suggestions?

Thank you for suggestions Gina. I'll def give it a try

Re: new foundation,suggestions?

If you're happy with this color, stick with it. I try to go one shade lighter because of oxidization.

Re: new foundation,suggestions?

I prefer a sheer foundation for some reason. Currently i'm using Bobbi Brown's tinted balm. Otherwise it's the even better from Clinique.

Re: new foundation,suggestions?

It could suit me better later in summer maybe. Right now, it can look abit awkward because of the difference between neck and face color. With natural warm it looks like I am tanned only on my face. I will also try a shade lighter.

Re: new foundation,suggestions?

I just get very shiny with those. Don't know why... I don't have oily skin, rather dry, but still that shine. Must be something weired things going on with my skin and complexion.

Re: new foundation,suggestions?

Two questions I have resulting from reading this thread:

  1. What does oxidization mean?

  2. You gals seem to love Bobby Brown - can you suggest which versions to try for a) light coverage (e.g. daily wear) b) medium to heavy coverage (e.g. evening wear)

Thank you! :)

Re: new foundation,suggestions?

Oxidization means when your foundation changes color or begins looking different after a while. It happens due to the pH balance of your skin which reacts to the foundation.

For very light coverage use the tinted balm, for slightly heavier coverage use the fluid natural finish foundation.

Re: new foundation,suggestions?

Well well, I have been using BB now for some days. I think it is too yellow. I have yellow and olive undertone. I am now considering giving mac a new chance, but this time in shade c instead of nc. I wanted to love BB badly, but it just isn't working for me right now.

Re: new foundation,suggestions?

which colour and type of foundation were you using meenana?

Re: new foundation,suggestions?

Hi inspiron,

I have been using luminious moisterizing. I have used honey(5) that the SA suggested for me, but it was plain wrong shade, too dark and dirty look. Than I tried warm natural, it was somehow better, still a more tanned/bronzing look than normal, I could also notice the yellow "streaks". Used a transculent setting powder over it to matt down.
I haven't tried a shade lighter as planned, just because I think it will appear even more yellowish in lighter shade.

Re: new foundation,suggestions?

I had the same problem the makeup artist gave me Honey and its just tooooooo dark. I like 4.5 for myself in natural finish. I apply with a stippling brush. The streaks you are getting may be due to you not blending properly?

I am NC 40 in MAC

Re: new foundation,suggestions?

Yes, I also use the stipling brush, and would say I blend well. Streaks and streaks, its abit difficult to explain, hmmm the yellowish is so visible shining through in a way, does it make any sence :bummer:
I am assuming that if I go lighter it will leave me looking sick

And if I choose to use NC in mac, I am NC 35. But I think C shades are more complimentary for my undertone, so maybe C 35?!

Re: new foundation,suggestions?

Or maybe C 40 for more summery/ tanned look as summer is here and I will get more tanned day by day. Aaahhh, love summer...

And a question again ladies. There are many shades in C (m.a.c), 1,2,3,4 and than the regular ones c25, c30, c35 and so on.
They says that c4 is a similar shade to c35. But there has to be å difference, and what is that?
