Re: New-Dehli Guppy meet !

Codey, I don;t think there are any Indians here from India. Most are either Indian Americans or Indian europeans...

I am from Delhi originally tho...if you need any advice on the town let me know. Have fun...

Re: New-Dehli Guppy meet !

^ ooper dekh merey laal, tera bhai loug betha hai mumbai main :smokin:

Dehli main Chandni chowk/ Qutab minaar / Jamia masji ke ilawa konsi jaga hai dekhney wali ?

How faar away is Ajmair sharif ?

Where is Ghalib ka ghar in ‘Balli maroon ka Muhalla’ ?

Re: New-Dehli Guppy meet !

aah... I wish I could go - its been ages since I visited family there.

Also in Delhi: Lal Qila... which is not too far away from Chandni Chowk (although there isn't much there now from what I've been told).

Also go to the Jamea Masjid there... as kids we had so much fun running all the steps in the minaar all the way up.

and Agra is what... a couple of hours away? so go see the Taj Mahal too.

Re: New-Dehli Guppy meet !

Codey go to Qutub Minar...within the complex there is an Iron pillar from the time of Akhoka, 3 BC or something. To this day scientists have not been able to figure out why it hasn't rusted...there are buddhist sholkas written all around the ruins circling the Minar. You will also gain some perspective in looking at the bricks and stones of the Minar itself..some of them have sankrit inscriptions. :)

My favorite place in Delhi is HUmayun's tomb..it was recently refurbished under the auspices of world heritage sites and it is a great hidden gem in Nizzamuddin.

Also go to Bahai temple and obviously no trip to Delhi is complete without a trip to the national museum and crafts musem.

Also, if you get time, go check out the nightlife..which is booming. Along with a trip to satellite cities like Gurgaon and NOIDA where the bulk of IT and ITES companies have set up shops and made a subculture of young, enterprising INdia.

Re: New-Dehli Guppy meet !

jab dillli jaa rahe ho to agre bhi ghoom aao!!
Dilli-Agra combination has considerable Moghul architecture and I tell you its quite worth a visit..
some places to visit in Delhi are Qutab Minar , Bahai Temple , Humayun's tomb, Red Fort( dont know whether it is open) , Appu Ghar ( if you dig Disney time theme parks), Jama Masjid

ajmer is I think 5-6 hours from Delhi

Re: New-Dehli Guppy meet !

Thanks for the suggestion.

But I think, they will Issue visa’s just for one city, where the match is going to take place. So no Agra.

I am not sure how much stay will be allowed on those visa’s. At most One week

I will have to check out. see the atmosphere build up.

Are there pretty girls, like they are here, in abundance :smooth:

Re: New-Dehli Guppy meet !

Dirty hindians kay mael ki grease utray to rust bhi lagay

Re: New-Dehli Guppy meet !

If you are going to India then do visit Delhi and once you are there , its not a problem to go to Agra which is a 2-3 hrs drive from there. Hum bhi gaee thay last year via bus from Lahore. Now, if you could take that, it would be awesome, in that way you'd be able see a bit of Jalandhar too as the bus stops at intervals in that region. Now, the best and the most interesting thing that i noticed was this stark difference across the border. In the bharti punjab its a real treat to see women clad in duppata riding bikes or Delhi where women are found wearing burkha, jeans, skirts, kurta pajama...you name it, without getting bothered abt the men folk there.
Delhi main bhi there are quite a few places to see, so no sweat even if you can't make it to Agra. I missed a chance to go to Agra 'cuz I started missing my mom there for some reason but I don't regret cutting short my trip. Enjoy!

Re: New-Dehli Guppy meet !

Chandigarh,Jalandhar aur Delhi main to sure milengi bahut saari sohni kudiyaan...

Re: New-Dehli Guppy meet !

Mirza, I grew up Moti Bagh area but spent a lot of time in Old delhi. My nani used to live in Nai Sarak and aunt in chandni chowk.

I went to Bal Bharti Air Force on Lodi Road. I left India when I was 12 and went to highschool and college here.
