say i want to buy a new laptop or computer in the next 6 months or the next year. should i wait for the new Windows OS to come out, or stick it with vista? and when is the new OS coming out?

so you're saying, get a nice laptop now, regardless of the OS, and install my own OS? but linux? dude what will my msn run on then :( and i haven't installed ubuntu...suse11 is like...beyond that!

I use msn and every thing from my laptops
Don;t use windows, Life cant be any better.
Suse is very easy to install.

After beta tests that were conducted I read in an article that Mac OS X still holds the top spot, xp is next and os 7 (new windows) is a lot better then Vista. Please stay away from Vista (worse driver issues).

ooo sounds promising. any idea when it’s coming out? also, you know how when vista was coming out a couple of years ago, free upgrades from XP to it were coming out. think they will do it with Windows 7 this time too?

Windows 7 won't be released to masses until next year from what I read
Still in beti form and rukhsati isn't planned anytime soon

It might be released this year... depending on how the marketting team for Microsoft plans it. I doubt they can't get the official version going within a matter of months if not weeks.

hmmm...man..it seems like i might need a new laptop this year =/
though a quick googling revealed that microsoft is offering free upgrades from vista to 7 via the computer manufacturers, like it did for XP to vista. that's good news i guess!

I'm also thinking of getting a new PC soon. I was also hoping to wait until Windows 7 comes out. As for my laptop, I'm still happy with it (it has XP), so I'm not really looking to upgrade that for now. If Windows 7 is still going to be a while, then I'd consider just getting XP separately, and installing that on the new computer.
