i dont noe where this thread belongs but i just hve a question im in canada many of you know and a new family member has come in to my family a baby boy i wanted to ask about his first haircut? how shall we do it ? and if there is any place where this can be done? or are we suppose to do it at home with the blade or any other shaver?
really confused plz help out and tell your experience as well
I believe you have to do it at home urself...as all the professional are hesitant to touch baby's head before 10-12 months. Given the skull bones have not fused together completely during first couple of months....
Are you asking about shaving baby's head on 7th day or a haircut ?
I am in US so I dont know if there are people who would do it in Canada.
When a newborn, we shaved our son ourself at home. I did not know where else to go. I asked another friend of mine and she had a cousin do it for them.
We used ladies razor. You have to be very careful, cannot use a very sharp or a very blunt razor.
I wet his hair and put baby shampoo in a small tub filled with water. Wet the razor in that shampooed water and then used it. It might be easier if you can cut the hair a little bit so they are short and not very long before shaving. Use a scissor that has rounded edges to do that.
I think it took us 2 or more hours to finish that tiny head.
Actually I had both my kids' heads shaved by professionals in the US. First was at an Arabic Salon when the baby was 7 days old and for the second one we took the baby to a desi lady who ran a salon out of her house, this time the baby was 2 montsh old. We did not have any problems at all with teh shaving.
