I used this stupid bleach cream on my face 3 days ago to get rid of an acne scar on my cheek
i left it on for 6/7 hrs when suddenly my skin started to burn and turn red
I quickly washed it off but my skin was all raw and red and burning like I was badly sunburnt
it swelled up and my eyes were watering
luckily my best friend is a dermatologist, she gave me some aloe vera gel and anti-histamine tablets to take away the swelling and reduce the redness. In the end i had to take 4 anti-histamine tablets a day combined with paracetamol, keep applying aloe vera gel to my face and used BIO to prevent scarring.
Alhamdulillah my face is back to normal again albiet a bit red, hopefully it won’t darken because of the vitamin E and A oil i’ve been using.
I just want to warn people of the dangers of these bleach/fairness creams. I didn’t use them to become white as some girls do, I wanted to see it one tiny brown acne mark would go. Instead I nearly had first degree burns (like bad sunburn) because of a product called STILLMANS BLEACH CREAM.
I could have removed that mark just by drinking water and applying lemon and basin to it every week, not it may work out worse or darker for me.
PPL never use bleach stuff on your face, it contains mercury and poisons that can ruin your life. Alhamdulillah I washed it off quickly, imagine if id left it on all night?
dear kid, you should have used it for 6-7 mins not more than that.
Even when the directions weren't available, you should have asked someone who has used bleach cream before.
I think stillmans bleach cream is not the bleach we use to lighten
hair etc quickly......its like a moisterizing cream that works slowly,
rather akin to "fair and lovely", I think sweetheart that u had an
allergic reaction to one of the components.
Woo chunni i hope ur ok now, it didn't give an permenent scars on face. never use bleach more than 10-15 min,, 6-7 hours that quite along time, usually im suprise ur skin didn't start burning in 15 min, cuz when every i bleach and whithin 10 min its start burning and that when i know thats it.... anything u use on ur face that burns wash it offf.....ur skin is tellin u ......
Like dhoop, I'm also thinking this "Stillmans Bleach Cream" is not the common bleach its like 'Fair and Lovely' Cream, and it works in different way. I think the other one from this family is "Stillmans Freckle Cream". Might be she is allergic to it. I'm not sure though Chunni can tell us.
arshad, girls do it to lighten the hair on their face. The effects of it being a SKIN lightner are less, I think. At least the bleaches I've used only give your skin a lighter appearance for a day or two. Its an alternative to waxing off hair off your face or using a facial shaving cream - both make hair grow back thicker.
I am so sorry, but it is so funny…6-7 hrs? skin starts reacting if leave it over 10 minutes..i m surprised it didn’t do much worst to your face…hopefully your face should be fine in a couple days.. try reading the directions next time.
Arshad: no, its not sad. You are not a girl, so you won’t understand even if you try. Since, girl can’t shave like guys, they have to try other methods. Bleach is to lighten the hair on your face, it does not change your complexion. :halo:
Nyquil etc just relieve the common cold, temporarily. And they are safe to use, generally speaking. However, with chlorination (or oxidation), its alot more severe and chlorine is also known to react with organic matter and forms carcinogens, so why expose yourself to skin cancer? Its also known to cause severe respiratory problems as it reacts with the mucus, even in small minute quantities.
