why is it that out of the blue my keyboard acts replaces keys. for example, i want to type “??” instead it will give me “É” and if i want to type ’ it will give me è ?? and this is only happening in WORD..not in notepad or here.. how can revert back ???

You or someone else who uses your computer is prolly using English (Canada) or Canadian Multilingual Standard in your Regional/Language options…
Try one of these two things:
- If this is only happening in Word, then, open the proofing menu (usually accessible through the icon on the bottom left corner of your word window (beside the Page and Words count etc.). Here, you can set the language… and I’d suggest just using English (US).
If you want to resolve the issue while you’re typing, then you can also try this:
- Run “intl.cpl” and browse to the Keyboards/Languages => Change Keyboards option. Click on the Language Bar tab and choose Floating on Desktop. Once you get the keyboard menu pop up, then you within MS Word, you can press Ctrl+Shift to cycle through the available keyboard configurations. Again, keep your keyboard as US… the Canadian options can give problems.
