My HP notebook was working fine (wireless) this morning but suddenly went offline. I tried connecting thru a modem …that didn’t work either. I think there might be a problem with the network adapter although it seems to be working fine.
Two questions.
1- how do I fix the network adapter
2- if it’s not network adapter how do I find out what the problem might be.

Its your Router. Check the connection between your router and your modem. If the green lights of router are on, then take the power cord of the modem and router, give it 30 sec and plug back the modem. Give it another 1 minute and plug back the router.

But rest of the PCs are working fine. Only my laptop is not connecting. :(

Is your laptop wireless switch off by any chance? I know you wired it and tried too, but make sure the switch is on ..

TLK actually rebooting the router and modem solved the problem. At first I thought since other PCs are working fine, that is not something I needed to do but tried it after you suggested. So thankyou. :-)
