pyg - Last week hubby managed to find a deal - it's the Acer Netbook with 1 GB... for $200 bucks.... :I'm loving it.
In simple words your 32 Bit system won’t be able to use more than 2 Gb of RAM, even if you put 4 Gb in it . So 1Gb is just waste , as no other software will be able to use it neither your operating system . It actually has to do with the amount of memory addresses 32 Bits can generate .
But if you use 64 Bit operating system then it will be able to utilize all of your RAM . The link you posted earlier suggests that your system have 64 Bit OS . That is why I thought its good that you have 3 Gb of RAM and putting in 1 more Gb of RAM will make it even faster .

Oh. The box says 32 bit.
So, it will definitely run slower than a , for example, 64 bit that has 4 Gb on it?

PCG, what i understand is…its the speed, the movement…1.6GHz is good enough, but remember that…if you try to do too much, its bound to HANG up…even if you have like 4-6GB RAM…its like you are overloading the bus with people, more than it can carry, so its going to be bound to slow the processing…like, your word will take a lot of time to save, or opening an excel sheet will be slower if you have lots of windows open.
Arre:eek:, you paid 500$, i too think its too much for that…yes, its handy…but it should do what it has to do…or else, kya kaam ka??
RAM is how much and Processing is how fast…isn’t it something like that people??

500 dollars for a netbook is not too much. However I checked the specs and 500 dollars for that specs is not awesome at all.

Why would you want to buy a netbook for less money with beqaar specs? From what I understand the atom processor is sheer crap.
