Don't believe everything that you read in the papers. There is a psychological warfare going on.

Re: Netanyahu demands 'red line' to stop Iran's nuclear programme
they can't afford to (if they have slightest sanity left). If iran got attacked , they will missile the whole mideast (which they should), no good for amreeka.
Re: Netanyahu demands 'red line' to stop Iran's nuclear programme
Israeli newspapers have a different take on it. They're saying the attack will take place definitely after the elections just before Iran reaches the final stage.
I hope not. It will set the ME on fire. Retaliation from Palestine, Iran, and Lebanon (not the government). Israel cannot fight a sustained war with Iran. It will be relying on US support. If the US agrees, they are done economically. If they disagree, well, that would be something. Unlikely, but something.
I'm basing this on interviews with former heads of Mossad, and the FBI. The same guys who have said that Iran is nothing in terms of a threat. Even if they obtained a nuke, why would Iranian leaders jeopardize their positions by attacking Israel? Even countries that support them, albeit indirectly, would attack them in that instance. They will fund groups like Hamas, I have no doubt about that, but I can't see Iran directly attacking Israel.
Re: Netanyahu demands 'red line' to stop Iran's nuclear programme
then one has to study their history of formation of Israel, the battle of Deir Yassin, The battle of Laturn, contending against likes of Abdul Khadeer Husseini, Kukiji, John Glubb alias Glub Pasha, El tell. Personalities of David ben gurion, Golda meir, David Shaltiel. Imposing condition on Haganah,Irgun,Stern gang, against Arab legion.
Welcome to history section:)
Peace the kaur
Ok, instead of rattling out names of battles and leaders... Let's take this one step at a time ... first of all ... What was the basis for inviting non-Arab Jews to the middle east to create a state? The argument was that the Jews should be given their own country, this was done with the intent to displace an already thriving community of Arab Muslims, Arab Jews and Arab Christians, in the holy land. If there was so much sympathy for the European Jews then why was a country not carved out of Germany and Poland for them? Why take them to another land to displace another people?
The UK among others made sure that the middle east countries started to develop a sense of their own nations. The middle east started to crumble ... Was this cunning or bravery? How can that be the bravery of Jews when they were systematically helped through a back door process?
Re: Netanyahu demands ‘red line’ to stop Iran’s nuclear programme
If history is any guide, Israel will never let Iran build the bomb.
Regardless of all the cries, Iranian can’t fight Israeli military might.
Re: Netanyahu demands ‘red line’ to stop Iran’s nuclear programme
That is the bottom line. And it is a shame. I shudder to think about the cost that the general public in Iran and Israel and a few other countries in middle-east will pay for the idiocy of Ahmedinejad’s bravado, for the double-games of American politicians and for the absolute barbaric and inhuman mutual hatred of religious fanatics.
The redemtion has to start with Muslim countries embracing Israel, Israelis accepting Muslims as equals, Americans getting out of colonial mentality.

You don't run psych war from UN general assembly, its the place where you give policy statements.
Re: Netanyahu demands 'red line' to stop Iran's nuclear programme
Who gave Iran the technology to build nukes? Don't tell me it was USA.

Re: Netanyahu demands 'red line' to stop Iran's nuclear programme
Iran is a country that has been in a cold war with the U.S for more than 30 years. It is the country that has built the formidable Hizbullah. It is the country that downed a U.S drone by jamming its signals. In 2007 it captured a group of special British forces. Iran has been preparing for war with Israel and the U.S for the last decade. Anyone that underestimates Iran does so at its peril. The strength of Israel is also hyped up. Israel is not as formidable as it was in 1967. In 1973 it effectively lost the war with Egypt, but U.S pressure forced Egypt to stop. In 1982 it fought with Lebanon and occupied the country for about a decade until it was forced out. In 2006 Israel fought with Hizbullah but was caught by surprise at the resistance and eventually realised it was not going to win and retreated.
Re: Netanyahu demands 'red line' to stop Iran's nuclear programme
They have the backing of most of the West and silent approval of many other countries. Most Arab countries are allies of these Western countries and the Arab leadership in most cases does not care abouth the Palestinians. Take America and the rest of the Western world out of the equation Israel may not be such a bully!
Whatever one can term that they got what they wanted and are still holding it, their survival is biggest miracle. No one know s what will happen in future but they have homeland against all odds surounding them is their own smartness, they started with us in 47-48, and are way ahead of us in every develpoment and social index.
Re: Netanyahu demands 'red line' to stop Iran's nuclear programme
Would any states come to the rescue of Iran? Even within Iran there are many moderates who may even support a removal of Ahmeddinijad (sic)

I would say that take Israel and the Zionists within the U.S out of the equation, the rest of western world and the U.S are not such bullies.
Re: Netanyahu demands 'red line' to stop Iran's nuclear programme
I never said that but they are all complicit in this. They have all turned a blind eye to what israel is doing and most of them give some sort of aid - political, military, charitable......so in a way they are all as bad as each other.

The most obvious state to support Iran would be Russia even if it does it covertly. Then Lebanon (meaning Hizbullah). The rest will be too frighten of the U.S to support Iran.
Even if some elements are against the leadership.....the Persians are an old civilisation so it will not be easy to divide them.

You are right....however you have to remember that the rest follow the leadership within the U.S which is dominated by Zionists. If you remove the Zionists then automatically the rest will fall in line.

This was what I was thinking of, Persia has been an old old (powerful) civilization, the country has strong nationalist fabric based upon their historical past. They have a strong army and trying to assert themselves in the middle east to regain their past glory, any attack on them will destabilize the whole middle east, including Syria, Iraq, Kuwait, Lebanon, Bahrain etc...
