Nest place to buy kids' room furniture

I am in search of bedroom furniture for my daughter’s room that can be used by adults sometimes (some heavy ones also) so i am looking for quality.
The room is small and painted light purple and pink. I wanted white set but which ever i picked from kids section of our local furniture stores the quality was rubbish. Then we came across a black finish kids set, quality was good but i am confused as it might make the small room, it was placed in purple section but that was big n full of lights, so any suggestions?

My last options are Ikea or Jcpenny (only available online), but i don’t know the quality of their furniture, please help me in making some decision.

Thanks

Re: Nest place to buy kids’ room furniture

what is your budget?

west elm (sister store to pottery barn) has an amazing daybed, very good quality, that i have in my son’s nursery. its this one- http://www.westelm.com/products/window-daybed-g093/?pkey=e|window%2Bdaybed|1|best|0|1|24||1&cm_src=PRODUCTSEARCH||NoFacet-_-NoFacet-_-Holiday%202011%20D3%20Billboards-_- but i have it in white.
cb2 (sister store to crate and barrel) also carries good furniture. http://www.cb2.com

you can also look at pottery barn kids too- http://www.potterybarnkids.com/
and crate and barrel- http://www.crateandbarrel.com/

if cost is a concern, ikea is always a good option, imo. my son’s crib is from ikea as is his dresser and other pieces of furniture throughout our place and its all doing well. you can always dress up ikea furniture too to make it look more high-end. for example, we have four of their billy bookcases in black-brown in our living room but we added the glass doors to them and they look fantastic. ikea also has a stockholm line which is pricier than the rest of their furniture but it is also higher in quality.

Thanks SGC for your suggestions but I am more into curves and carvings on the bed that give them more girlish look like this but its quality was rubbish

and all these websites carry straight framed beds.

Re: Nest place to buy kids’ room furniture

in that case, check costco- we bought our tv stand and it is great quality and construction- http://www.costco.com/Common/Category.aspx?ec=BC-EC10581-Cat2129&pos=9&whse=BC&topnav=&cat=2746&eCat=BC|93|56265|2746&lang=en-US

as well, there are reviews for everything online, so always google the brand and style for reviews.
