the whole overthrowing of the king..and prime minister election…the whole craziness that happend…wHAT happend?! lets discuss it in fairly easy terms…cuz i can not understand the news ![]()
Re: nepal's situation
Well, looks like Pakistanis generally are not really concerned about Nepal. It has no effect on us. And Pakistan is so much craziness going around right next to ALL of its borders. If people discussed news on its merit then there should have been many threads on Darfur crisis, for example.
As far as I know, Nepal has a communist rebellion going on. The rebels are called Maoists, even though China does not support them. These rebels want to overthrow the king, and establish a socialist/communist country. This civil war has left the country and its economy devastated.
Then there are anti-communist people who also want to see the king go, or at least be as powerless as British or Japanese king.
The king had made himself too powerful some 15 years ago, and current agitation was about returning the country to democracy. Maoist rebels and pro-democracy people are each other's rivals, but in this case they supported each other. After so many violent demonstrations, king had to give in to people's demand.
Re: nepal’s situation
