Neighbourhood Watch in Pakistan

I was actually thinking one way to somehow intercept these recent attacks in busy civilian places is to start up local patrolling units in every locality to step up surveillance and inform the authorities about any new or suspicious looking individuals to the locality.

As a civilian its the most we can do to assure a safe environment. I’m sure it is something easily implementable in a society like ours which is close -knit and where everyone knows everyone else. So any strangers would immediately be spotted.

Something on the lines of a Neighbourhood Watch :hmmm:***

Re: Neighbourhood Watch in Pakistan

Nice idea . In Pakistan we have it in our community . But usually areas to cover are huge and they have less resources . Most only cycle . Whistling and stuff . I think now even those armed uniform gun mans by private security agencies are also very active .

I think we need to be involved with community and identify 'strangers' .

^Incase of suicide bombers,it is dificult to stop them from carrying out mayhem ,if not on their desired target.Even if somebody tries to stop, the bomber will explode.I think many Security personnel would be bribed by these people before targetting a high profile target.

The so called check on suspicious charecters may work out in case of Car Bombers or back packer bombers,or weapon asaaulters. They just detonte the explosives and clear the area.Still a cent percent watch on these people is pratcically impossible in a country like Pakistan where technology advancement has not achieved.Even in a country like Israel where sophisticated technlogy has been employed at every nook and corner of the country, bombers strike.

Also the resolution of the administration to face and tackle these people is important.Right after the serial bomb explosions ,not a single untoward incident has happened in India, barring the Mumbat attack ,which was a totally different scenario. The Indian government woke up to the threat of the so called `Indian Mujahideen' and crushed their backbone for ever.
