How can I start knocking the doors of my neighbors and ask their permission to use their wireless , how can I find out that which neighbor owns which network ? I would I know if which neighbor has unprotected wireless network. It will look stupid if I start knocking the door of a neighbor and seek permission and either that neighbor does not have wireless network or network is protected. So many questions .
Not really, it would look nice, I'm sure neighbors will appreciate it.

when I find an open network, I take my head out of window and shout “bhai ye kis ka signal hai, istemaaal kar loun?” (in urdu of course). I repeat it three times, and when I get no response, I use it. 
It’s called ijtehaad I suppose. :o

Mirch, the article I posted has one interesting aspect to it. The victim (the cafe or coffee shop where the Wifi orginated) had no qualms with the guy piggybacking their wifi. The city police still ended up arresting him and the city attny pressing charges.

Yes that is spooky , it can only happen where a thief can sue a home owner for his injury while coming down the chimney for stealing and can WIN.
They are equating this to grand larceny or murder where the state sues the criminal even if the victim does not press charges.
