Topic could be expanded beyond couples to family members. Deliberate neglecting is Passive aggressive behavior - the worst form of hurt

telling your spouse that you are not feeling well and you need some medical care even then he goes to sleep or goes out to have dinner / lunch ............to me this was ignorance.....and the list can go on

Negligence is ignoring someone even after they make an issue - ANY issue - known and clear.

Doing things that might irritate your spouse.
Not being there for him/her even though you know you should be.
Having less and less to do with them and abandoning them...not just physically but emotionally as well.
