Negativity ..

There are times when suddenly negative feelings / thoughts just engulf us .. we start seeing the negative in everything around .. how do you fight off the negativity energy and most importantly turn it into positive energy and happy thoughts ?

When I get on that negative track, I go deep down it. It either takes a movie/songs/shopping or just forceful exiting of thoughts to put me in the happy zone again.

There is no cure for negativity as such. Each individual has to learn how to deal with em. Easier said than done...

So how we deal with them ? other then trying hard to shift focus ... but its there , no matter how much you try to ward it off ... its a phase which eventually phases out .. but until its there it can cause wreck in the relationships , cant it ?

So how does one calm ones thought processes and turn them around ?

Most people say exercise helps , for many that hasnt helped ... distracting oneself via movies etc , is a temporary solution ...

1) Socialize.
2) Just hug your mum if she is around you.
3)Talk to your loved ones about your negative thoughts if you want to & if not then talk to ALLAH in namaz-e-hajat & make dua.

Why force it? sometimes u just need a moment to wallow in negativity. trying to convince yourself to be "happy and positive" usually doesn't work....after a point it just comes naturally.

if you are constantly suffering from negative feeling then it is not good. once in a while it is ok and curable disease. you can stay away from situation until you make yourself realized that "I AM WRONG".

it looks like you are recognizing that you have negative thoughts and feeling. I hope you can achieve positive behavior by involving yourself in a happy way and overcome your ill feelings.

you may also do wadu, as Islam has already prescribed it.

I write (hand write) a journal and it helps in self reflection as well as makes me understand my emotion and the situation. Going out for a walk to a near by cafe, having a good drink and see world go around also helps me shake off negativity.

Bebo, I think thats a good idea ... one of my friends thinks its really helped her ever since she started writing her thoughts ..

It's ok to be negative once in a while. It's natural. But what does help is to hang out with positive people.

I think its okay to wallow sometimes...you have to feel what you're feeling and that's okay.

Dwelling on things you cannot help or change or do much about is not good IMHO.

I have my days...but I get rid of them fast by doing something I enjoy.
