Suggestion: Interest free Loans - Micro Finance
I really like this following suggestion of mine. But it is a little more complicated than the other ideas here so am taking it back for now - leaving it for the next time. Thanks.
Even though my vote is still for Balochistan issue but there is another idea that I have been thinking for quite some time now. Its about provding long term help to families rather than just giving them Atta Ka Thaila or other groceries. How about coming up with a plan where a small amount can be given as an interest free loan. Families can work on handicrafts such as candle making & other stuff. It doesn't require that much money but can really help a family. Banks don't do that stuff - they require tons of documents etc. Once this plan works, there won't be that much need to put on more and more money. simply get the money back from one family and give it to another. This whole thing can be started from one small town or village etc. It may sound weird, time consuming or very difficult in the beginning but if planned properly, it can really work. I'm not sure but I think maximum of Rs.10,000 or in some cases maybe up to Rs.20,000 would be enough for a family. e.g. candle making doesn't even require that much. I know there is a machine that can be used for socks making and I think, its not more than Rs.20,000 The only thing is that one may need to provide them training as well.
