hello everybody,
Me n my husband currently looking for a girl name,and ideally we’d like to have a good meaning also.
we are thinking about Samara(soft pleasant light).we also like the name Mishel (light,torch).
Does Mishel Samara sound right as the first n second name???
Any advic/ feedback welome n appriciated.

Based on the meanings you’ve provided - Mishel = light/torch and Samara = soft, pleasant light, wouldn’t that if literally translated mean that you’re calling your daughter light, soft pleasant light?
It sounds repetitive or redundant and doesn’t make sense. Better would be to pair to complementary names - where one name when joined with a second gives both names a continuous meaning. Either that or two unrelated but not contradictory names.
I did google Samara and it also has the meaning of “Protected by God” - but as most would caution you, go to a respected source for the true meaning of a name.
If you do want to name your daughter Mishel which means light/torch, why not pair it with a name like Safreen (means pure love), thus the combined name would mean light of pure love. Or how about Sama (means heaven, sky), this combined with Mishel, would mean light of heaven or sky.
^ These are just random suggestions, but I’m trying to demonstrate how when two names with complementary meanings are combined, how it enhances the meaning of the name(s) - that’s how we tend to name the kids in our family.

I’ve found 3 meanings of samara. she was a narrator of haddith,soft pleasant light n protected by God.
now according to ur kind suggestion Mishel Samara means “A light which is protected by God”

Soft n pleasant light and protected by God…are two completely different meanings. So, basically you have no certainty for this name. I would not be surprised if in some other sources the meaning for Samara will be listed as the same or similar to names like Samira or Samar.
Personally, I’m not to crazy about how Mishel and Samara sound together…I’m not feeling it.
I do agree with Sehrysh’s idea. How about a middle name that means guide or guidance…so a light that guides? Or a middle name that means faith such as Iman…so the light of faith. Other examples can include the light of love…the light of hope…the light of truth. So you can search for middle names that have mean guidance, faith, love, truth etc…but find those that have a fixed meaning…where there’s no doubt or double-triple meanings.
