Do you mean the plates in which you take Mehndi to the brides home?
We have done a variety of things in the past few years for the khunchas we took on Mehndi night...will try and find some pics..

i haven't got any photo's here...but i can describe them...................I
When we took the mehndi to the bride's place there were 6 of us who were going to carry the plates in....what we did...got 6 equal sized plates (small glass ones) covered them in Green and gold foil paper..filled the mehndi then sprinkled flowers on the top of the mehndi. Then joined them all with gold ribbons sellotaped to the plates.........make sure there's sufficient gap between the plates.
Joined the ends so it was a circle of plates...then we all carried them in to "Bhumroh Bhumro" The effect was very good!
At my wedding they did similar thing, but had young girls carrying plates i and they sort of spun round as they carried the mehndi in.....in that case they didn't have mehndi in all plates, they had mehndi in 2 plates and sweets, chocolates and mithai in the others. Behind the young girls, other women carried in jewellery and presents on silver and green platters and placed them all around me...................

Also then the girls side usually go to the grooms place to have a bit of fun with the mehndi. We didn't do this at my wedding as my husband was brought to the hall!!
We did it at my cousins and we had lots of fun!!!!

well my sisters wil be doing it for fun at my home,,not fr groom they are far away from our home 6 hours a head,,,,so just fr us at home fr fun and rasam.

Okay...so if it's just family and there won't be a lot of people to worry about...what about incorporating candles as a major theme? With the right music and ambience and you don't even have to worry about people knocking candles over etc.
You could have fragranced candles all around..................including on the mehndi plates

but i am alwaz afraid of fire.....candle light can be a major cause of fire... i am afraid. but i love candle light...one of my office mate from india was saying me to take bath & ubtan in candle light only,,asi will give you glow afterwards,,,but i think in pakistan its nt possible....isn't it

I am not sure about Pakistan....
Here in the UK we tend to be able to buy candles in enclosed jars/cases etc, which are both decorative and safer.
You could do the whole traditional thing of you sitting on the floor in the middle with all your sisters and friends around you.........
Will you be having your mehndi applied that day as well??

yup probably,,as i will reach pak 3-4 daz b4 my wedding day..then 15-20 daz in pak with in-laws ,,,eating dawats .....then to honeymoon fr 10 daz...after that back to my place fr wrkk....bye bye to festival days

you can get the mehndi thalis already made and nicely decorated from any shop who sells the mehndi stuff.they have all sizes available .large ones and small .

in kuwait, ok... lemme give u some ideas.as i know what things can u get in kuwait,as i have lived there for 20 years...
got to some 100 fils wali shop,get some plastic plates and flowers,probably sunflowers(cloth made). cover the plates with golden wrapping papers,stick the flowers round the plate (on the circumference of the plate) and sprikle some glitter on the flowers (use glitter glue). place a bowl(covered with golden wrapping paper,and stick some gota or lace on the bowl)put mehendi in it,and sprinkle some glitter.place 3-4 candles arround the bowl (on the plate).
if u get small "matki" from there,that will b superb.
