Issue: I need to increase the length of my Lehenga top as it is too short and I am not up for skin show. I am okay with below waist length or even knee length tops.
Top / Blouse Material : Brocade with stone work
Lehenga: Loads of stone work and border.
I am obviously unable to find the same design of the brocade material in the exact same colour. I looked at jamavari designs (round shapes) in the same color and ‘organza’ material of the same color to see if the extension to the top works. Not sure if it would turn out nice though and I dont want to take chances.
I may put laces at the bottom of either jamawari or organza material, whatever I choose to use as an extension.
I want to keep the top because of the kaam and it is beautiful.
The designer is unable to help on this issue. Your suggestions pertaining to the issue in hand and photos of such designs / suggestions would be highly appreciated.
Re: Need to increase the length of my lehenga top! suggestions, please?
Thank you all.
@hareem01: I tried that and it makes the lehenga bottom look really funny, looks like I am wearing it too high.
@ZareenKhan: Fantastic idea!!! Though I am still confused; I dont have jamavari design anywhere on my lehenga, so you think putting in Chiffon with jamavari border would look fine? Not "different" from the rest of the brocade top? I know mix and match works these days.
@sahar: Yes, working around with the Dupatta would be my last preference because somehow photo shots may catch the skin, as I have seen with other brides.
@Farisha: I tried asking tailors around to work with me on the dupatta idea, but my dupatta has borders around and therefore, will have to be cut in between and then rejoined. No tailor is ready to risk the "flawless rejoin" bit for me :)

yup jamavar wud go with it, just be careful in selecting the rite colors that wl go with the outfit :) n if possible go with chiffon without linning if its nt too revealing for u :)
