Re: need tips for easy delivery
There was a thread recently about that whole butter/ghee in milk....it just doesnt work that way :) sorry!
Walk ALOT. Do Kegel exercises. Stay well hydrated. And if at all possible, keep the docs from giving you Pitocin!!! Labor pains are painful yeah but they are endurable and natural. When they give you Pitocin, its like a freight train is splitting you in half every 30 seconds. If the baby is not in danger then you have the right to refuse it.
I had one birth without pitocin and it was hard work and pain. The other 2 births they gave me pitocin and it was hell. What happened is that they broke my water to speed things up but it had the reverse effect. Once the water was gone, the contractions didnt have as much to push against so they stopped. They had to give pitocin to get things started again. Once the docs start interfering to speed things up, things go downhill for the mom. IMHO. Natural is endurable and its best for mom and for baby.
If you can deliver at a birthing center instead of a hospital, thats much better too. In a hospital, they strap this wide, itchy belt with electrodes around your belly and you have to lay flat on your back and dont disturb those electrodes!!!! Sheesh, it is SOOOO uncomfortable!! At a birthing center, you dont have to get strapped in, you can sit or lay in a position that is comfortable for YOU and this makes things SOOO much easier.
With my first son, I was so scared of what they'd do at the hospital that I stayed home till I couldnt take it anymore. I was on my elbows and knees for the contractions and it actually wasnt too painful at all. I stayed home for so long that my son was born 20 minutes after we arrived lol!!! They were shoving papers in my face for me to sign - for epidural and I kept yelling NO. NEEDLES. NONEEDLES!!! NONONONEEDLES!!!!!!
Anyway, I wish you the very very best! Inshallah everything will be fine! And you know, even if they do give pitocin, it gets overwith and you forget all about it. Its scary to face but end result is just beyond imagining! All the best to you and your little!

As mamaof3 has already mentioned that drinking ghee/oil doesn't work....
Just one thing to add...massage the perineum everyday with olive oil to avoid a tear or cut.
Re: need tips for easy delivery
this is cruel but i did hear it on t.v.
think of what the culture does.
a spanish lady said it. if a woman is to have a natural delivery and labor is long, simply make her sniff some red chilli powder. and with pressure the baby will be delivered, hopefully easily.
best,
Dushwari

Are you American?
The thread starter is in Pakistan and I think they don't have this pain relief option there yet which is a good thing.....epidurials have so many side effects.

Aap kyon bhaag gayeen?
Re: need tips for easy delivery
^ seriously..it rips?
Re: need tips for easy delivery
It CAN rip but usually doesnt especially if you have an experienced doc or midwife who helps to ease the baby out. My first baby was tiny, under 6 pounds but I had a small tear because he was born before the doc even reached my bedside - we had the staff running to catch him lol! But with my other 2, no tear or rip and they were big boyz - over 8 pounds.
