Hello all, I’m back to the forum after a long time because I’ve been so busy with my job and studies.
Now suddenly out of nowhere there came a good rishta and unofficially I’m engaged the wedding is to be in October, with less than two months left to prepare for the wedding. I’m in a clueless chaotic state, with no one around me to guide (I used to live abroad so basically I dont have any good close friends here) so you’ll be seeing a lot of posts by me these days hopefully
It so happened that I fell in love with a bridal jewelry set, and even though I wasn’t engaged in Ramadan but things looked hopeful, I went ahead and got this set booked! Now Alhamdulillah things have finalized and the date is being fixed so I have to order my bridal dress. And since I already got my jewelry, I have to keep in mind that my jewelry doesn’t clash with the dress. Here’s a picture of the set:
I was thinking of peach/coral combination with red…but I’m not really sure. And I want full sleeves. Since the jewelry is so traditional type I think a very trendy dress wouldn’t go with it? Apart from this I’m clueless! So help me get some clues please GS experts!
P.S. I tried to rotate the image but it rotates back to landscape automatically, why is that?
That set’s absolutely gorgeous! Where did you get it from?
I think 3/4 sleeves will work very well with this set as well, and you could go both very traditional or trendy, both in design and color combo with that set. However just try to make sure the red you’d be going for is very similar or almost exactly to the red you have in your set.
This bride is wearing a set quiet similar to yours, but her colors are very different
Thank you! I live in bahawalpur and I got it from a local shop. In fact I loved it so much that I got it booked even before my baat pakki and yes I’m going with chiffon full sleeves
Thank you all for your response and appreciation. I was thinking of peach and red combination....peach shirt red lehnga and dupatta....but now that all of you are suggesting ivory I'm also considering it....though do you think the second mala with off-white beads would stand out on ivory shirt?
^ i think that depends on the style of your shirt. if its full of kaam (second image below), any jewellery will be fighting to be seen. if its just the neckline plus a light chaan of small pearls all over or kamdaani maybe, or a lighter peach colour (like first pic) then yes, the pearl mala would show.
I am going to order my bridal dress today inshaAllah but I still can't make up my mind clearly! sigh
I'm not going for that full neckline...but the design i chose goes in a center panel full of work which goes straight upto the neckline...the sides have motifs at bottom but only crystal spray at top
Another thought just struck me....would a heavy dupatta border look OTT with all the heavy jewelry and the matha patti?? Like going too heavy at the top and suddenly all blank at the bottom :P
No- for your dupatta, make just one heavy border and that will drape over your head and frame your face. The other three borders can be thinner. That will cut back on the overall weight of the dupatta too and allow it to flow.
What kind of kaam do you have on your lehenga? Since you say there is kaam on the bottom of your shirt, I think it should balance out the top nicely.
I don't know about adding in the red--- I think the peach on it's own is pretty enough. The pearls on your mala are pretty chunky so I'm sure they'll show up fine so long as you opt for fine delicate kaam vs. Big motifs and jewels.
Make sure the fabric is flowy, has good drape and weight for all your pieces. If it's too stiff, it won't fit well or be flattering. See the red and black outfit you posted? That's the right kind of fabric or opt for pure silks or chiffon.
