Well if he can't stay with he needs to let his wife go and marry someone else in USA. Simple as that. There is no justification for committing zina. If there are halal means available..he should use em.

Sorry for being so blunt about it but your friend is an idiot.
And as Paheli said: If a person would even attempt to harm me physically, regardless of what the circumstances are, he could not expect me to be friends with him. What adds to that in this case is: He is doing something wrong and instead of realizing that he lashes out at the person pointing that out to him. 
The point about blaming the wife is kind of ridiculous. Yes she should join him in the US as soon as she can, but using that as a justification for adultary is just pathetic. There are millions of men living abroad and making a living for their families back home. Not by choice, but because their economic situation does not allow them to bring their families abroad too. So if those men can stay faithful, your friend can too.
