Need some help re: Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for some information regarding Islam in Pakistan, specificially:

How many people follow Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat in Pakistan (and Punjab specifically)

Where does Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat fit into the broader scheme of Sunni Islam? Is it considered a subgroup? Is there anything that specifically characterises Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat?

Would Ahle Tashi/Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat conflict be common and if so what is it about Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat that would cause this conflict?

Any help is much appreciated!

Will

Re: Need some help re: Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat

Ahle sunna wal jamaa = sunni
[barelvis think they own the title but they don't :D]

sunni shia conflict? not common

how many sunnis? out of 175 million, majority are sunnis with 50 mill are shia (wiki)

Re: Need some help re: Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat

i find the question disturbing

btw theres no chance for conflict

may the curse of Allah subhana wa ata'ala be on evildoers

Thanks,

So to confirm - Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat is just a term for Sunni Islam or is it a subgroup within Sunni Islam?

I don't mean to indicate that there is conflict between Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat/Ahle Tashi - I am just wondering if there is anything specific in the beliefs of Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat (for example the existence of Walis) that Ahle Tashi may take issue with.

Thanks again,

Will.
