The biggest failing of the Pakistani state is in the area of education. Governments both civilian and military have consistently followed policies to undermine the standards of institutions that did exist from the British rule and completely ignore the needs of the larger, poorer citizenry. Things present course was set during the worst ever regime of Zia when with the blessings of the US policymakers Saudi money was funneled to bulk up the madarassah system for primary and secondary education completely beyond the control of the existing education system, effectively dcimating the standards for both conventional schools and the madrassahs. Today Pakistan is bereft of systematic educational standards and the institutions are declining fast. The threat to the country from recruits of the madrassah systems goes beyond suicide bombers. It represents a cancerous minority who are committed to institute their brand of the shariah laws throughout the country and would stop at nothing to attain their goals.
This is very true that religious schools in Pakistan are breeding a generation that hardly fit into our society. The students in the ‘madrasas’ are given only the religious education neglecting the core subjects of education like Mathematics, Arts, Science etc. students who graduated from the religious schools are unable to secure a reasonable job because of their incompetence in education. some of them get jobs in same maddrassas and some become Imam or Moulvi of mosques but majoirty of them gripped by warlords or
extermist so called jihadi organizations.
The need of the time is to bring these religious schools into the main stream education system of Pakistan. Pakistani leaders must ensure them that we are not against the religious education but the cowardliness and hatred that these religious schools are embedding into the minds of innocent children
A complete reform of Pakistan’s education system is a must.

Re: NEED SOME CHANGES IN EDUCATION SYSTEM
Madrassahs are not a significant portion of our educational system. Yes, they are influential, but that's not the whole system. Given the lack of resources, the amount of money we have to spend on debt servicing and our dear military, we cannot afford a huge education reform unless our dear military is willing to sacrifice some of its perks (sell/rent a few golf clubs, beaches etc.). What we can do is to start top down and improve standards of our universities which would be cheaper and will have trickle down effect.
One solution:
Force all government officials above grade 17, members of parliament (all assemblies), members of senate and military officials ranking colonel or above to have their children educated in Pakistan (not send them abroad) at least upto undergraduate level. I do not see why we would not invest in education and have a much better system then. Examples are our medical schools which are doing great and where these officials are not reluctant to send their children.
We might also see those officials not really sincere in serving the country resigning and moving out as well. ;)
Professor Pervez Hoodboy has been shouting from the roof top for the last few years. No body gives a damn, the establishment has tooooo... much interest in keeping the masses focused on the narrow version of islam and us Vs. rest of the world mentality. Militiray gets their goodies and farmhouses and mullahs get their zakat.

Re: NEED SOME CHANGES IN EDUCATION SYSTEM
so its seems like that total unrest/voilance/corruption, the main roots of these problems
are from Military/Establishment ??
Your post is quite long. I cant read all right now, no time.
But I agree that the education system needs a complete upgradation to international standard. I do not have a clue about the religious school. Dont know what they teach them except for reading the Quran & we have heard that these madrassahs teach them wrong version of the Quran. But we need a uniformed, standard schooling system in the whole country & it must be an improved version. Apart from the subjects, every teacher must also be responsible for the good moral upbringing of children.
