Need information about Hazrat Imam Zain-ul-Abideen a.s. from Sunni perspective.

I tried googling but couldn’t find.

I am trying to find the Sunni perspective of the role he took on during and after the events of Karbala and about the days he spent in Medina after returning from the prison before he left this world.

Any help on this is appreciated.

Re: Need information about Hazrat Imam Zain-ul-Abideen a.s. from Sunni perspective.

what exactly do you mean by "sunni perspective" most history books are quoted by sunni and shia authors ...and most events of his time are wellcovered in these turbulent days ....both sides agree that he totally withdrew from political life after events at karbala

Re: Need information about Hazrat Imam Zain-ul-Abideen a.s. from Sunni perspective.

Thanks for the video, I found that too but I was actually looking for some text on his profile. (I will listen to Part 1 and Part 2 when I have time.) Well, since it is said that shia perspectives are exaggerations, I'd like to know the profile of him (his whole life - I don't bother about political or non political - especially things he said and did after the events of Karbala n Sham. Do sunnis believe in the khutbah he delivered when he was held captive n so on?) as per Sunni belief. However, I am surprised that I can't find text about him n thus this thread.

Re: Need information about Hazrat Imam Zain-ul-Abideen a.s. from Sunni perspective.

Thanks, D.R. That was part 2.

Here’s part 1

Indeed the speech was really interesting and at the same time baffling. Definitely some important messages in this speech.

Here’s what he talks about.

**He mentions about Messengers standing against tyrants - danger of tyranny and dictorship which he says destroys society. And it belittles value of the deen. Islam came to destroy tyranny and dictorship. He gives the e.g. of Musa a.s. n Firon, Isa a.s. n those who wanted to kill him, Ibrahim a.s. n Namroon. P. Mohd s.a.w. n Quersh. He mentions how Zakiriya a.s. was sawed to 2 pieces, Yahya a.s. was beheaded - all done to please “someone”. He says that we shouldn’t lean with tyrants as they change Haq to Batil n Batil to Haq. e.g. he says Ppl were told that Zakiriya a.s. n Yahya a.s. were wrong thus they were killed.

He mentions about “Yazidee tyranny” n called Imam Zainul Abideen THE SON OF THE PROPHET s.a.w. He mentions how the message of Haq never dies. He mentions how Imam was chained on head feets and chained to a camel and made to go through cities n towns to humiliate him and his family.

He says “Who Allah honours, people can never dishonour” Imam contributed to the sunnah of the Prophet s.a.w. n we should follow his footsteps as it IS THE authentic sunnah. He was the only surviving offspring of Hussain a.s. He mentions the hadiths about how after 30 years, the unjust would rule. He mentions about 5 caliphs (after Yazid). He mentions that it was Abdul Malik who killed Imam Sajjad a.s. He used to threaten people with sayings like how his sword would be faster to their necks then their own words to their ears. He mentions how it is a shame that ppl like Al-waleed was made a caliph under the mane of Islamic leadership. He mentions the sahih hadith where it is mentioned that who harms Medina of Rasul s.a.w. is cursed. He mentions how it was a time where Quran n Sunnah was put aside n how it was a one man show. Imam Zainul Abideen was aware of this situation n he stood up for his responsibility n tried to increase awareness of the ummah to follow authentic sunnah. This was an obligation on him.

On the 10th of muharram, he asked his Aunt Zainab s.a. to be given a sword n a stick. When asked why a sword and a stick - he said Sword to fight, n stick to help me walk. He didn’t participate though as he was sick.

Imam Hussain a.s. had told his women to cover themselve fully but the tents were burnt n the ‘daughters of Rasuallah s.a.w.’ were chained to camels. They had chains on the neck n head n feet which was then connected to the camels. This was done to everyone of the family. The 72 heads were put on a spear n these Prisoners of War were made to follow - these were the “heart of Rasulallah s.a.w”

He mentions how once the Prophet s.a.w. said to his daughter when he heard Hussain a.s. crying. “Fatimah - the cry of Hussain a.s. hurts me”

The trip was made to humiliate. The “media of the umayyids” changed the events. They told the ppl that these POWs were khwarijes n they wanted to rebel against the caliph. Through Kufa Basra Sham n the final destination? The palace of Yazid!

Yazid thought he killed Al-haq but he thought wrong. It’s the other way around. Through the efforts of Imam Zainul Abideen a.s. 3 revolutions came about. Ppl rose to fight the army of Yazid. Then Mukthar killed those who did the massarce in Karbala. Then it was in Medina.

He mentions the son of Imam Zainul Abideen a.s. called Zaid - who was a man of Noor. Zaid fought until he was killed. He was crucified n his body was there for 4 yrs until birds rest on him. Yahya bin Zaid was also crucified. He then reads a Poet’s answer when someone asked who Imam Zainul Abideen a.s. was in Medina.

The ground of mecca knows his steps. Mecca Haram the stones know
Son of the best of creations. Can see noor of Rasulallah s.a.w. coming out of his face. U not knowing him doesnt’ hurt him. Allah knows who he is. U ask him about anything, he’ll never say no.

He is the Leaders of Ahle-Sunnah. Ahle Bayt are the leaders. Some ppl think history should not be talked about. Why do we talk about Musa a.s. n Firoun, Ibrahim a.s. n Namrood. Quran is about what happened - so that we can avoid what was wrong. Our intention is to learn the correct things so that we can do them.

**Kiya extreme views hain Ahle-Sunnah wal jamaah mein.

Ik r.a. khata hai or dusra lecturer Yazid ko tyrant khata hai.
