A relative of mine needs some sort of character certificates from, i presume, police stations in Islamabad for immigration to Canada. Also need attestations from UGC and the foreign office.
Would anyone from/familiar with Islamabad be able to guide me as to where the offices for such documents are?
It's really easy, he/she can go to their area police station and get the character certificate. But then i they also have to certify by some government official.
For character certificate I think he can go to the police station in the area he lives in . I don’t think so he has to go to a government official to get another signature . But that I am talking about 3-4 years back . Not sure about now . He needs to check from embassy in Islamabad, as what is their requirement .
If a person living abroad then he/she can contact embassy/consulate for issuance of character certificate. The embassy/consulate will verifiy it from pakistan and will issue the character certificate for whatever purpose u need.
or
U can ask the embassy/consulate to issue character certificate stating there is no criminal record against the individual in this embassy/conusalte and submit it Canada immigration or else.
In case he/she living in Pakistan then he/she can type the character certificate on stamp paper including his/her photo. Attest it from** a)** Union Councellor or 18 Grade office** b**) attest if from Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Islamabad or any nearest camp office of the same ministry** c)** attest it from the embassy/consulate where u wanna submit this certificate d) attest it from Pakistan Embassy/consulate in Canada.
Option (c) is optional.
NOTE: Do not go through any agent who say v’ll do it faster. They hav fake stamps and signatures all. This will cause delay while countersigning it from Pakistan embassy/consulate due to verification from ministry.
