Are you both in the US? Why not send him some card in the mail, from Hallmark or something, maybe a cute gift....
maybe get something engraved and give to him as a reminder.
This is extreme & my Korean girlfriend did this for her fiancee while he was station in the Navy in Germany....every week or other week, shed send him a goody bag, with normal essentials and also shed bake fresh cookies/brownies and pack them really good and send em via express mail...he loved them...
i guess for him any little bit of anything "normal" meant a lot for him...
anywasy they are married now and happy...well still seperated from time to time as he is stationed in some other country now.

if ure alisha.. then u could consider this as an idea.. i did it once years ago when my relationship ws still budding... i cut a lil lock of my hair.. (a narrow lil string..).. braided it n put it in a card that i sent to him.... we both used to be very gay those days so he absolutely loved it... he still teases me over it n ive yet to hear the end of it :)
afro-sheen's ideas also sound nice.. get one of those dog tags... get it engraved w/ personal msgs or smthn u share... also check at carlton/hallmark.. i once also sent him this frame.. it ws basically a lil computer n u could put a picture on its screen.. n it made sense all the more since our sole means of communication those days were emails :)
and keep us posted on waht uve planned to do n how he/she's liking it :)

i have sent him flowers, cards as well....the idea about engraved dog tags sounds really good....i think thats what i am going to do....

i really like the idea of sending baked cookies/brownies that you made from scratch. It's thoughtful AND he'll love that you made it with your hands just for him.

Before we got married, once for I forget what occasion, but I burned a CD of songs that I know he likes, or would like and I sent it with a cute soft mini plush bear with a little heart in his hands...i had a few other goodies too, but i forget now :) But i gotta say its the thought the counts, it can be anything as long as he/she knows you put thought into it.
