Need Ideas: Getting rid of the Fog....

from the windshield of your car [in the morning]. Well, I switch on every possible switch available in the car to get rid of the fog. But it takes quite sometime to clear the fog from the inside. I guess it takes sometime to warm up the engine.

Is there a better way to approach this? Something like switching on the A/C for a while(instead of heater) and then…or something like that anyone of you has tried???

Thanxxx!!!

  1. buy a new car

  2. install a block heater

  3. roll down ur windows every morning

  4. get an after market portable heater to plug into ur car

  5. forget about it

it is a new car. with high tech stuff i cannot really make any alterations to the car since its from the company.

it takes about i think about 10 minutes for the fog to COMPLETELY go way..

how long does it take for ur car to take care of the fog?

  1. Get a towel and wipe the windows from the inside.

:p then whats the point of having such fancy gadgets in the car??

NOBODY HAS THIS PROBLEM or perhaps everbody uses a towel :-D

Open the circulation in the car by switching the air circulation nob/button to fresh from outside. Don't Re-circulate!

okay i will try that...

its embarrassing when u are sitting with somebody and the freaking thing takes for ever to clear....:-D

Check the AC controls so the direction of the air-blast is towards the windshield and not your face. Warm air will get rid of the mist from the inside. If its outside use the wipers. When you are driving and the mist starts forming, check the controls of the AC to make sure the windshield is getting warm air. To get rid of it quickly, roll down only an inch both the driver and the passenger side windows. Keep a clean cloth handy in the car (below driver's seat) and wipe the mist from it in the morning if you are really in a hurry. Using the AC to do it may take a few minutes.

wear warm clothing..

turn on the A/C (as in cool air) with the vent pointed to the windsheild..

clean screen in less than 10 seconds.

You must live in Canada :p When you buy your windshield fluid, make sure that it's especially for winter; it has something in it that makes it easier to get rid of the mist/small snow particles from your windshield. i dunno, don't remember what it's called but i use it and i could swear by it. i'll go to the garage later and find out what it's called. If you turn your wipers on for a few seconds, the fluid comes out and helps to wipe the mist away - it will come back at once if you don't keep your heating on. Like others mentioned, the heating vent should be properly positioned. i usually turn it on medium or full blast onto the windshield. Clears up any fog in five minutes.

^^ Im wid nadz here...in dubai its called sonax windshield spray...I dunno what product is available in ur vicinity.

Fill ur windshield wipers water box wid da same fluid so when u use ur wipers, it will automatically take care of fog.

Make sure your climate contron is on "defrost". There is also anti-fog solution for the inside of your windows available. That helps as well.

yup this Canada is called Germany :p [if i didn't misunderstood u] i think that the fluid might work from the outside of the windshield since atleast here we don't have the windshield wiper arms inside the car. don't know how it works where u live :-P i don't have a problem from the outside but from the inside.

wasay bhi all the maintenance of the car is taken car by the workshop at the firm. interesting thing is that this car is manufactured by my firm too..no wonder it doesn't sell that much :D

i am positive that i turn on the right switches for defrost. i guess the reason for this could be that it takes a while for the engine to warm up to produce air which is hot enough for the fog.
