i have to write a character analysis paper for my lit class. i have to take 2 characters from different sources, and then break down their characterization. i’m looking for ideas on which 2 characters to pick for my paper.
someone is doing their paper on jack sparrow from pirates of the carribbean vs. captain long john smith from treasure island.
another person is doing their paper on rose from titanic vs. allie from the notebook.
can you guys help me figure out two characters that i can do my paper on?
i’m just looking for ideas - i promise i wont ask you to write my paper
ok. so i attempted to take a shakespearean perspective..but i didn’t get too far because most of my shakespeare analysis stemmed from ‘no fear shakespeare’ and that’s very limited. ironically, i love his writing, but only if i can have the sparknotes version alongside.
thank you everyone for your awesome ideas. in many cases, i haven’t read the books or seen the movies you guys listed so i decided to dig in my bookshelf and pulled out oliver twist and *harry potter and the sorcerer’s stone. *
i’m going to start up my character analysis now…basing off the first comparison that oliver and harry are both english orphans in different time frames, and the hardships they go through shape them for better futures.
so i just thought i’d update this thread for future reference, if any1 needs ideas.
analysis of oliver twist and harry potter is a piece of cake if you’re familiar with the characters. there is a lot that can be written if you need to write an extended paper. i was planning on going up to 5-10 pages, but cut it short because i’d covered the assignment objectives. i titled my paper ‘oliver and harry: england’s literary orphans’ and i set my thesis on their similarities. worked like magic
Compare Satan of Paradise Lost and Macbeth. Or compare Macbeth and Dr Faustus
This because these are time worn characters and you can find dizzillian much material on them to research and prepare your paper
oo you guys have good ideas!! shoulda shared before!!
i have an issue with shakespeare i don’t read his stuff unless i can get a no fear shakespeare to read…so i cancelled out that option from the start because it would take so much time
zobiaaaaaa - i’ve read 5th business!!!aah that was like one of my REALLy fav books back in the day!! omg, it’s SUCH a good story! ok i think i’m over reacting here lol. i’m totally not into shakespeare..i wish i was i know the plots of all his works, but hehe, i can’t analyze 'em too much
i’ve done a presentation on the 5th business also- jr. year in high school i’m serious - that is GOOD story! i want to re-read it now that you mentioned it
