oh oh they did that light stuff in one of those home decorating shows. 
i can’t remember how they did it though 
as for that silk screen you’ll need a good pair of scissors and patience. get a nice silk-like cloth for the brown pattern and go snippity snip. and then you can either glue or sew it down to the base fabric.
