So I got a couple of suits from Khaadi for when Rishta ppl visit or you visit them and I’m not too sure how I want to get them sewn!
They are cotton Silk suits with GORGEOUS duppatta’s but I’m at a loss! I got some cloth for piping and Paati work (which is in fashion.)
So help me out with idea’s and pictures! i wanna have them be “modern” (u know what i mean lol) but with a modest neckline and I can do anything but sleeveless
ah 110 view but no replies :(
its alright, i figured some things out by trolling the forum here and pulling out some old trends but then using the patti trend
judging from the number of views im assuming some people were also interested, so i'll try to post pictures once i get my clothes back from the tailor :)
awww. Well my dad jus brought back me some suits frm pakistan. And long kameez seems to be back in the fashion. Umm i have one orange with trouser i'll post the pics up in a bit. And one pink n greeny with a shalwaar.
Do the sleeves see-thru? thats nice. Or ummmmm Oh you know what else i THINK is in fashion...
i know this sound really stupid, but guys i am zero when it comes to this fashion stuff :( :(
im getting married this yr inshALLAH,though the dates not final yet,but i dnt really know wat the trend is these days.got 2 main q's:
1- these days the lehngas r long shirts with some garara or sharara, but my mum hates them n im not a big fan of them either,so do u think i can just wear the normal lehnga style?would it be okay?or shud i fall for this new fashion??
2- iv seen long shirts with baggy trousers these days in formal wear..do u think they ll stay in fashion for a whil??im just 5 ft 4 inches, dnt know if i will actually suit them, any ideas??
n another thing..i know this doesnt go for this thread but i couldnt find a thread which actually would help,so could someone help me out...
geeting married in july inshALLAH,date yet to be decided,
im working full time,n all sorts :( n i havent started a thing yet..
dnt really know wat to do?where to start from?
i mean what preps do u actually need to do before getting married, like clothes, shopping.arrangement,n looking gorgeous..dnt know what to do,how to do it n how to start...plus im the only girl in my family :(
princess21 - I think there are some threads about what to do in the run up to your wedding to start the preps. Have a search for them using the search tool. I can look for you later if you can’t find anything.
Wear what you feel comfortable with, that’s the most important thing. The normal lengha style is classic and many brides are still wearing it.
As for long shirts with the loose trousers (dhaka pajama), height doesn’t matter so much but imo they look better on slim people.
^yea, i know. i was in your position in 2008. i was out shopping every night after work and that wasn't even for a 'full' wedding!
to do lists and folders on your pc are your friend. and excel spreadsheets ;)
i think i heard something about someone putting one (spreadsheet) for people to download around here... don't know what was in it. can anyone shed any light on to its contents and whereabouts?
thanks mixedbeatuy and mani01 , i'll remember this for the next round of clothes :)
princess21 - i think choosing only some trends for your wardrobe would be best. rather than filling it all up with what in now.
Some of the clothes i got for myself i ended up choosing to do "paati" work in the inside of shirts so when I walked/ sit it'll catch ones eye. Its not so overt that it'll go out of fashion once the paati work dies down but it still follows the trend.
As for the long shirts, I'd suggest keeping ur shirt length 2 inches below ur knee. Its long enough to give you the look, but again will work after as well.
For the shirts that I did keep at a long lenght, I didn't get shirts with work on the bottom just on neck and sleeves and such so that they can be shorten'ed with a tailor after.
