Well seeing as they already have had a chance to review your resume, and I am assuming that you sent a cover letter with that. I would simply thank them for their interest in you, comment or two on the material referenced in the email (keep it short and succinct), and let them know your contact info and that you look forward to speaking with them....good luck

They already have my cover letter and my resume. I was thinking of writing a letter expressing continued interest and addressing "why should they hire me" or "why I am a good fit" should I briefly mention these or stay quiet untill they call me? it is an entry level engineering job.
