Need help with ubtan

Girls, I have fresh ubtan from Lahore. Don’t have a clue how to use it though. Do I mix it with milk or water or … ?Is there anything else I need to add?

I wanna apply it to my face, how long do I keep it on? What does it do to your skin and is it ok if I use it every day? Ohh and what is it made of?

:help:

Merci

Re: Need help with ubtan

Shinoo ubtans can be made from an array of base items usually citrus peel powder or gram flour and includes chandan (sandal wood) and turmeric (haldi). You can make a paste with milk or rose water but do a test patch first on your hand to ensure you dont get a rash. Some people are allergic to ubtan.

Re: Need help with ubtan

i think umake it with rose water and wash it with milk atleast thats wat shush does in this one movie :o

Re: Need help with ubtan

shinoo... i used ubtan for a month in pak... its so refreshing!!

i mixed mine with haldi.. and there were some other things my ocusin put in there which i cant remember... but mainly haldi and besan... and i would put cold milk in it if i wanted to leave it on my face for a bit...

i used to keep a whole bucket of the mixture in my bathroom and use that with a bit of water to wash my face.... its sooooooo refreshing and my skin was glowing on the actual Ubtan day...

Re: Need help with ubtan

Miss Shinoo dnt be using ubtan if you've never used it before.

Some ppl get pimples from the stuff. so start with your arms and legs and then go to the face.

Re: Need help with ubtan

ubtan made my face yellow :D but its really gud,i dont use it often coz i have oily skin

Re: Need help with ubtan

WTH is ubtan?

Re: Need help with ubtan

^^ its that yellow paste desi brides put on (on their mehandi or some other day in the wedding)

Re: Need help with ubtan

The ubtan in Pakistan, should already have everything in it and all you would have to add is water/rosewater/milk depending on your skin type. I have pretty sensitive skin and ALhamdulilah it doesnt make me break out so far. FYI, i have used Norangi ubtan in the past since it was recommended by friends.

If for some reason the ready made ubtan doesnt suit you, try a mix of besa, haldi, sandal powder, and rose water on your skin. I personally find it very refreshing and it gives me a glow.

Re: Need help with ubtan

i find that mixing it with water only made my skin a bit red for a few hours....
but mixing it with milk and honey has awesome results...the milk and honey make up for the exfoliating effect of the ubtan. just make sure that when you take it off you dont rub your skin too hard and rinse with cool water while rinsing off...oh and you leave it on till its dry on the skin...take it off with water and gently exfoliating skin....

Re: Need help with ubtan

Thanks girls!

I had a facial yesterday and I don't think I need the ubtan anymore. I'm still going to use it though.
Ira, I have a very sensitive skin myself (acne prone) so I'm really careful with what I use. I asked the beautician yesterday and she said it was save enough to use. SHe gave me another cream that I have to apply every day. I'm going to test it first on my hand (or maybe a small part of my skin) to see if I don't get any rashes.

The first time I tried ubtan with water but it didn't stick to my face, so will try it with milk today.

Re: Need help with ubtan

Shinoo, the ubtan should be of thick consistency and not too watery inorder for it to stick to your skin.
