This may sound as a thing of the past, but this is my very first post in the Audio section, and hopefully, I will be able to find what I am looking for.
Is there a way to download the music (tunes) of a song - any Indian/Pakistani song (also called midi, I am assuming)? I would like to download just the music, not the lyrics. And also, once you download the tunes, is there a software available which will record your voice on the top of that, alongwith the music (So, you will be singing the lyrics, while background music plays)?
Re: Need help with the background music/lyrics recording
I think finding Indian/Pakistani songs without lyrics will be close to impossible. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think they have very many karaoke version of those songs. HOWEVER, there are ways to remove vocals from a 2 channel mix. It can get pretty complicated to do at home on a computer, but with the right software, it can be done.
As for your second question regarding overdubbing vocals onto music. This can be done with any type of recording software. One track will contain the instrumental, and the other track will be the recording of your voice. Mix them together and voila. Some cool recording software is Sony's Acid Pro, Pro Tools, Cakewalk. Good luck.
