I think with passage of time, colors took their names from fruits. Like Orange from the fruit orangae. In Sindhi, both fruit and color orange are called ‘Narangi’ in Urud color is ‘Naranji’, but fruit is Kinnu.
Same goes with coolors you asked. ‘Purple’ is jamni as it got same color as fruit ‘Jaman’. Same goes true for ‘Violet’ as ‘Banafshi’ flower got same color.
Pink is Gulabi, may be we got pink roses / gulab in our part of world and also known as ‘Piyazi’ as onion outer is pink.
Brown is ‘badami’ as it matches almond color.
