Okay, I’m very new to this group, but here goes. I’m engaged to be marrying a Pak guy in about 2weeks here(yes I’m a gori if you’re wondering:)). So far I’ve done pretty well with Desi cooking, but I need to learn to make better roti. Whenever I mix the atta, I’ve just been making enough for a few roti at a time, but I saw his bhabi make a large batch that was for 2 or 3 whole days.
How do you make roti large amounts at a time, is there any trick to it? I really appreciate any ideas or advice you guys can give me, I am really trying to work hard on this. Shukriya.
chef ki roti itni terhi? taubah! parathay ke naam pe dhabba! kaisay roti utha utha ke maar raha hei pan pe.
meena either get a dough mixer or then just practise, gradually increase the amount of flour u prepare. The trick is nothing more than adding the water gradually and making sure you are mixing it well without creating dry lumps in between. mix it up thoroughly making sure the dough is neither too soft nor very hard. Mix small bits of dough at a time and once its all mixd with water combine it and work it altogether.
Femme fatale Urf Mohlik khatoon ... woh paratha nahi tha, ussko chipri hoi roti kehte hain.
aur roti ke terhe pan k bare mein yehi kahoon gi ke aapne mehez aik manfi sifat pe ghor kiya aur tamam masbat cheezon ko nazar andaz kerdiya.
It is the era of enlightenment, 23 old year old girl’s don’t need to know to make chappati but yeah tobah tobah if a 23 year old guy can’t make round chapatis…

Come on knock out, you heard me, I'm a white girl. I didn't grow up learning how to make chapatis. I learned how to bake American breads that went in the oven and used yeast to make them rise, not flat roti. I can make them, I just need a few tips.
Thanks so much for all the tips guys, I'll be a little braver in the morning and see what happens with the roti. InshAllah, they will turn out better.
making lots of rotis in a short amount of time honestly take time! don't rush it. perfect a single roti first, and then slowly start making more. before you know it you can make lots in a short time.

If you're in Pak, it so easy to just buy rotis from tandoor... if in US, pita bread from grocery store is also fine...

Well, we're in the US, and he really likes getting his roti fresh at home, so I am going to do my best to learn it for him. Besides, I happen to enjoy cooking alot myself, so it will be really great trying to learn something new.
I'll try some of these ideas out tomorrow, InshAllah, and hopefully let you know how my roti turn out.
