Can anyone help me out ,how should i get my PTO request approved for 2 weeks.
If i tell my boss i need to be out of office for 2 week staright he’ll probably pitch a fit and would make my life hell.I dont have to deal with him on daily basis but requests like these are very hard to get approved.Since there is no back up person
I vent seen my parents in seven years…i think its a great opportunity for me as i have 90 vacation hour pending,and on 20th of december is Eid too.
Honestly I just can’t afford to lose this job.Thats why i’m seeking some help.

Just explain your situation about trying t see ur parents. I'm sure he'll understand. Check if anybody in the department can step in and help you in the day to day operations. If u cud let us know what kind of work you do I'll be able to help u better!!!
I took two weeks last April and it was hard but not impossible!!!

I guess my manager is really good then I am taking almost a month off in dec (which I don't have to tell anyone is the busiest time of the year especially for my company) and she approved it instantly.
I submit the request in the morning and in few hrs it was approved :)
I did the same last year in dec and got approved :)
But I think shah1979 is right you should tell your manager you have not seen your parents for seven years I am sure it will melt even the strongest heart.
My advice is to talk to him/her first before submitting the request. Because when you are in front of them with innocent face it will be harder for them to say no on your face then to reject an electronically submitted request. Do emphasize on the fact that you have not seen your parent for SEVEN YEARS

Before requesting electronically, go personally and talk to him and explain him clearly about your situation, if you have vacations then you have right to take that

I work as a IT Tech. in a outsourcing company. We had 4 ppl working in the IT department since its a remote site. Two of my colleage quit a while back and our GM doesnt wanna hire anyone else since he believes Two people can take care of 260 + staff members...... *
*as we are doing it for the past one year....
Every thing goes smooth the problem only arises if any of us needs to take off for anything..... he wants us to be responsible for evey thing even if we are off the clock.....
I know him he is a rude yankee who has to live in the south he wouln't give a damn if i'vent seen my parents....all that matters to him is he wants someone to be here all the time.......
What do you guys suggest now.........

Well , according to me contract , i aint allowed to take holidays from 15 dec to 15 jan :) bloody gora Xmas time! But my crowd is bit nice . I give the favors and they return it back .
In yr case ,as Baqra eid is clashin with xams this year , i m sorry to tell to ya but if ya ask for holidays , yr man will mad as cut snake and as he is major league not point pissin him off ! be nice and gentle , as ya can catch more flies with honey then with vinegar . Persuade him to hire more people for your dept and if he wont , ditch the job mate . There are loads of jobs out there and no point working at a place and not liking it !
