Need Help with Canadian Immigration Essay

Hey guys/girls,
I have this essay due for Canadian Revolution. Apparently, the topic deals with Canadian Immigration Policy since 1968 but we can focus on a specific time. I am not sure which one to pick though. Since 1968, Canada has had Trudeau, Mulroney, Chretien and Harper. I am leaning towards the immigration in Chretien since its recent. However, I think immigration in Canada flourished during the Trudeau era due to multiculturalism. I have researched a lot and gathered few books. Just need your opinions and if you have any quality sites for this essay. I would greatly appreciate it.

Is it still true that Canada has incentive for White Couples with two children who migrate to Canada will recieve 30 acres of free land?

Re: Need Help with Canadian Immigration Essay

This sounds like a high school assignment. What grade are you in?

Let me recommend something to you - don’t use websites. You’ll get a better mark if you visit a library and pull out some books or journals. Also, stay away from Trudeau if you’re a high school senior. He’s hyped. He’s done with. Every kid writes a paper about Trudeau, and if you want your topic to stand out, Trudeau wont help you. If you pick Trudeau, your teacher wont give a poop about it - it’ll just be another essay on his or her desk.

If I was in your position, an interesting topic would be immigration in Quebec. Talk about Quebec’s immigration policy. Focus on the referendums to make it extra spicy. It would be an awesome essay topic. But, if you cant do that - I’d say pick the Mulroney years. Do a simple compare/contrast essay about the influx of rich Asians coming through the investor class. See this : http://gpe.concordia.ca/course_notes/bmigration.htm

I did a third year paper on Immigration, but it focused on Portuguese women in Toronto. If you have any questions about migration, fire away.

^^^ No mate, I am in university. This is just a stupid course i have to take for my liberal studies requirement. This essay is supposed to be very informative and the length should be around 2000 - 2500 words. I did go to the library and managed to get 4 books; 2 books on Chretien's government and 2 on Trudeau's. It is hard to pick in which the policy worked for government. I also got 5 journals on the immigration policy and on Mulroney as well. As a Pakistani-Canadian I do not like when I see immigrants from various parts of the world coming to Canada and not getting the job in their field. Thanks for the link man.
