Is that you? You look beautiful :) what does that V sign that you're doing with your fingers mean?

My friend wears hijab and like you recently got engaged. She wore her outfit dupatta on her head, but it was draped in such a way that you couldn't see her hair at all. She looked beautiful :)

u can do it this way …and for the neck thing …keep the neckline not so low and get some jewellery which covers the rest of the neck …there are so many bridal heavy chokers …which covers half of ur neck and chest which is seen …

Re: need Help Regarding Chinese color ‎shirt

Well maybe if u wore ur shaadi ka duppata like this (all the face to the front with a matha-patti then u might be able to cover ur hair without showing ur hairline or anything from the front. It won't look bulky either.

Re: need Help Regarding Chinese color ‎shirt

you look very pretty..and devilicios has suggest a good way

i can see why they would have a problem with that kind of “hijab.” It just looks really ghetto and tasteless.

Then again–you should reconsider if you really want to marry a man and a family that is askng you to compromise on a value you hold very dear to yourself.

Re: need Help Regarding Chinese color ‎shirt

So are they asking you to not wear hijab at all? or wearing it in another style?? You can do regular hijab with it over your head, but not sitting on both your shoulders, just on one and the other side behind your shoulders. Your neck will be covered with the hijab as well. Or you could wear regular hijab and drape the dupatta on your shoulders which I have seen brides do and it looks nice as well. Or you could also use your dupatta and bring it to your hairline so it covers like a regular hijaab.

Re: need Help Regarding Chinese collar ‎shirt

Well thnks girls for the suggestions and by the way its not me i jus copeid the style and i didnt wore a tikka… and my hijab cap wasnt showing much jus an inch…and my fiance doesnt have aproblem with my hijab but he says to cover up in a way or style which would not be so prominent/obviuos(like on my engagment my hijab cap was showing a bit ) to avoid all that “batein” of the reletives u knw … he wants me to adopt a style in which i wud be coverd up but at the same time look like a triditional bride

Re: need Help Regarding Chinese collar ‎shirt

this girl used to come to my halaqa.

i hope u know that hijab is not only just about covering ur hair.

but i agree with the last part Sara516 said.

Do what makes you comfortable, and its ur day, people shouldnt tell you how u look.

my family has the same issue when i told them im wearing a hijab with my shadi jora...they were so against it..one of them even said that why bother having a wedding hall and getting ready...(grrr)..but i did it the way i wanted to, and the way i felt comfortable with. and now they all say that i was one of the most beautiful brides they ever say (mashallah)...lol.

Re: need Help Regarding Chinese collar ‎shirt

i was trying not to say anything but it really annoys me when girls take sooo much care over an inch or two of hair and then have their neck and everything on display. how ridiculous.

i like the coat shirt with a high neck idea with a nice (proper) headcovering. i probably wouldn't put the duputta on the head as well then.

otherwise, come on, just have a segregated wedding so you don't have to worry about all this.

If you were comfortable with your style on your engagement, i really don't see why you wouldn't be comfortable with simply a dupatta draped over ur head. i fail to see the difference.

^ I think this is very pretty.

Re: need Help Regarding Chinese collar ‎shirt

^ very pretty Mashallah...I like that a lot but not the neckline...very busy.

If I were you, I wouldnt worry about the relatives too much...its not their day.

Also, chinese or mandarin collars are a great way to cover up the neck and keep an elegant look. Just drape and secure the dupatta well...cover up the rest with a matha patti.

I don’t know but i think, i have seen this guy somewhere before

It’s best to have a much higher bun, that way the dupatta will fall forward more. Then get the dupatta closer to your face, get it pinned. And drape it in front across your chest.

I always found this bride to look graceful:

She has a high bun and the border of the dupatta looks stiff/heavy so it’ll drop forward more and cover the hair.

These are other examples:

The bride in green is wearing a high collared shirt, no skin showing. That can give you ideas. She doesn’t have much work on the clothes by the jewelry so her necklace is standing out too. And she’s wearing a mattha patti which could be worn if hair is still showing.

Just make sure your collar doesn’t look too complicated that the jewelry is hidden:

This bride looks nice too, but maybe she could have worn a bun so the dupatta didn’t fall flat and it could have been pinned better on the sides:

But see, you don’t need the skullcap to cover your hair

Re: need Help Regarding Chinese collar ‎shirt

isnt there some ahadith regarding wmoen with camel humps at the back of their heads are cursed and will not enter Paradise? (by camel humps, i mean a big high bun)

IMHO, please dont worry too much about covering your hair if the rest of you is exposed (ur neck, gullah, arms).

out of all the brides shown, the best is the one in the green. This is in terms of the way they wear their hijab. Mashallah , they are all pretty.
