I searched online for recommended places to visit but most of them seem not too exciting for a visit with a 5y and a 2y old boy, both extremely restless and demanding :bummer: I am not too adventurous right now and looking forward to a relaxing trip rather than visiting 10 places in a day all day long with aching body at night ! Please advise accordingly (and dont forget I need some time to shop too :D)

It's going to be pretty hot but Ski Dubai, Underwater Park at The Dubai Mall. Trying to think of other places your kids might like, would they like to go swimming with dolphins? They would love Candilicious!
The Dubai Mall
Mirdif City Center
Mall of the Emirates

candilicious is basically candy shop full of candys n chocolates basiclaly it is made very colourful n attractive n its just opposite the dubai mall's aquarium, n visit sheikh zayed mosque in abu dhabi :)
Re: need help planning a 3-days 2-nights stay in dubai
The underwarter zoo at The Dubai Mall is great, Candilicious for everyone!
Hallab in Garhoud and at The Dubai Mall has great Lebanese food and so does Karam Beirut at The Dubai Mall. You should go to Festival City as well they have something or the other going-on for kids. If you tell me what you want to shop for I could give you a better idea Inshallah.
Re: need help planning a 3-days 2-nights stay in dubai
If you can leave the kids with your husband to babysit, take a cab to the Meena Bazaar area which is an old souk full of material and you can find really nice bargains and Indian sari's outfits as well as trinkets etc.
I don't know if there are any animated 3D movies playing at that time, but the kids might enjoy that. JBR The Walk, open beach is a nice place. The Atlantis is a must see, don't know if you'd like to go to their water-park 'Aquaventure'.
Madinat Jumeirah is also a 'must-see', for juice and sheesha Khan Murjan at Wafi is really nice...they have the best sheesha in Dubai.
