Need help on Wikipedia

As most of you know, I actively write articles on Wikipedia, mostly about Pakistan…

I need help as most Pakistani related articles are written by Indians and you all know how un-biased they will be

Just check out these articles and the lies in them. I need to get more Pakistanis actively involved in this because I cant do this alone…

Dont do it for me, do it for your Country

Re: Need help on Wikipedia

I've briefly seen the 1948 article. Which parts in particular do you fault? The bits i point out:
* one part about Kashmirs population which is factually incorrect opening paragraph.

  • It skips the massacre of Kashmiri locals launched by the Dogra regime

  • the whole military insights section seems like an Indian military history and is irrelevant. The Northern areas section is poorly written and does not mention how the region separated.

  • The UN resolution bit is again poor as it does not mention in detaiol the INdian commitment towithdraw as Nehru promised.

  • No mention is given if militias from Swat & dir that were also used in the battle and what other measures were undertaken by the Indian government to starve Pakistans virtually weaponless in the early days post independence.

  • India used a similar precedent as Pakistan did..in its occupation of hyderabad, jungarh etc.

  • The role of british officers in warning Mountbatten is also well known, if they had not been informed it is likely srinagar would have fallen and the who state would have been occupied by the time Indian troops reached the border.

*The eventual stalemate of forces; triggered (surprise surprise) an attempted coup..known as the Rawalpindi conspiracy.

  • Liaqat Ali Khan and Patel had almost clinched a deal of Pakistan getting Kashmir versus India keeping Hyderabad which fell through.

  • Nehru's personal interest in keeping Kashmir has been ignored (his family was originally from there)

  • The use of maps is excessive.

Re: Need help on Wikipedia

I have to admit that im not into wikipedia cyber crusades. One person writes something, another comes and amends it, then first person comes back and puts it back in the original form, then a third person comes and add his stuff and the circle continues. For these reasons the credibility of Wikipedia is lost when it comes to political articles and such. It is however a good source of information on definitions and exact sciences. And thats how I look at it myself.

The articles you linked above, I have seen before and wanted to amend them or get into dicsuccion on the flip side but I would rather not waste my energy on such things because of what i mentioned in first paragraph. I would rather spend my energy on developing a site of my own for my Country, as you put it.

Ok, what we can do (and i am willing to help you) is to create our own articles which will serve as counter to what the Indians have put. We can call it "The Pakistani Perspective". So instead of amending these articles, we create our own, so if someone searches for lets say "indo-pak war of 1965" they will be presented with both views.

Re: Need help on Wikipedia

I wrote an article on the architecture for some of the new buildings in pakistan and some vijay kept editing it out and wrote 'design of terrorist madrassah', but after he did that 2-3 times, some admin from wiki kicked him out

Re: Need help on Wikipedia

I think you dont know one thing Mercy, wikipedia is one of reputated site on net and articles on wikipedia are regularly reviewed by experts coz that is a quality of wikipedia. So please dont try to run from this reality coz mostly what you will get on wikipedia would be 100% right and even if you do any changes in article that will be reviewed by experts and will be automatically deleted. If you don’t believe this so send them a email you will get the answer :naraz:
