ok this is desperate situation .. so desperate call for help
its freaking cold outside + heck of a lot of snow to go out and get yogurt or tomatoes.. so i need someone to guide/help me with a quick recipe to cook chicken (in any style, desi or non-desi) without using yogurt or tomatoes that will fill up a student!
Do you have lemon juice or vinegar? Mix the lemon juice with the tikka masala and marinate the chicken. Bake at 350 degrees.
or make some pulao if you have rice:
soak rice in water and set aside.
brown some onions in oil. Add the whole spices such as laung, zeera, daarchini etc. When fragrant, add the chicken, salt, pepper, dhanya powder etc and fry until chicken is no longer pink. Add water in a quantity of 1 cup rice to 1.5 cups water. Heat until the water is boiling and then add rice. Cook until the water is almost gone. Cover with damp napkins, cover the pot and let it steam or dum on very low heat. Check after 30-45 mins if the rice is well done and the water has been dried up thoroughly.
PS: THis was a non yakhni pulao. I figured it would be quicker than the yakhni one.
I don't have lemon juice (finished it last time i made tikka!) .. so pulao seems like a good option.. hmm lets see if there is anything else that can be quicker .. :)
do all the recipes on the boxes require tomatoes/yoghurt?
u can be the guineapig and try the following.
cut up chicken in to little pieces, fry sliced onions, garlic and ginger. once golden brown add the chicken, saute and add some tikka masala, bhoonofy, add a bit of milk to make sauce i guess since u have nothing else, if it looks too watery add a tadbit of corn flour
