Hi missy. Why don’t you try looking at threads in the Lahore forum: http://www.paklinks.com/gs/lahore/ A lot of people have had similar questions as you and have received helpful answers from there :cheegum:
There is an expat Pakistani girl with nick "Holy Moly" living in Lahore. She may help you out! She has explored Lahore well. Just search on forum and send her email.

Cuckoos Cafe in the old City near Lahore Fort is a must. You would need to try it during day light to see over the top of Lahore City and at night to see it all lit up. ** Make sure you sit on the roof!**
Village inn or is it the Village restaurant looks exquisite. i have never been in myself.
Gourmet Bakery is also quite good i think it near faisal town.

How long will you be there for?
The Village is a nice restaurant. They have live entertainment (a dude playing the harmonium) plus buffet style food. The food area is something to be seen. The food isn't that special, you can probably get better food from androon shehar, but if you're not up for the trip, or you don't know where you can possibly go, then the restaurant is a good option.
Also, gourmet bakery is at every street corner now :p it's the first stop for Lahoris to get doodh doubleroti and anday. and mithai if no one wants to go to nirala :p
